Trans365 ("we", "our", or "us") operates the Trans365 browser extension and website. This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal data when you use our service.

1. Information We Collect

Account information: When you create an account, we collect your email address and nickname. When you log in, your credentials are transmitted securely to our API server.

Authentication information: Passwords are transmitted over HTTPS and stored in hashed form (bcrypt). We do not store plain-text passwords.

Website content: To provide translation services, the extension reads the text content of web pages you choose to translate. This text is sent to our translation backend for processing in real time and is not stored permanently by us. (See Section 4 for how it is forwarded to third-party model providers.)

Local browser data: The extension stores the following in your browser's local storage: an anonymous device identifier, a cache of translated text (to speed up repeated translations), and — if you configure a custom API — your custom API settings including the API key. These remain on your device and are not uploaded to us.

Location and usage data: For free-tier users, we use IP addresses and country data to track usage counts and enforce rate limits. This data is only used for service operation and abuse prevention.

Payment information: We do not store complete card numbers. Payment processing is handled by third-party payment providers (such as NowPayments), and we only retain transaction identifiers and order history needed for billing records.

2. How We Use Information

• To provide and maintain our translation service
• To authenticate users and manage accounts
• To enforce free-tier usage limits and prevent abuse
• To process translation requests and credit usage
• To process payments, issue receipts, and support refund requests
• To respond to customer support inquiries

3. Data Retention

Account data is retained while your account is active. Translation content is processed in real time and is not stored long-term on our servers. Translation results may be cached in your browser's local storage to improve performance; you can delete this cache at any time by clearing the extension's storage. Transaction and order history is retained for billing, tax, and record-keeping purposes as required by applicable law.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal data. We may share data with:

• Translation model providers (required to provide the service): When you use our built-in translation API, the text you submit is sent to our backend and then forwarded to third-party large language model (LLM) providers — such as DeepSeek, OpenAI, or other providers we configure — which actually generate the translation. Those providers process your text under their own privacy policies. We do not permanently store the source or translated text on our servers.
• Custom APIs (your own configuration): If you configure a custom translation API in the extension, your text is sent directly to the third-party endpoint you specify and does not pass through our servers. Your custom API key is stored only in your browser's local storage — we cannot see it and never upload it to our servers.
• Service providers who help us operate (hosting, email delivery, payment processing) under appropriate confidentiality obligations
• Legal authorities when required by law or to protect our legal rights

5. Data Security

All data transmission is encrypted via HTTPS. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt. We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at support@trans365.me.

7. Cookies and Analytics

We may use essential cookies and basic analytics to operate and improve the service. We do not use cookies to build advertising profiles.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updated versions will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date.
